THINK FISHING WITH DES SHIPP
Welcome to Issue Six of Think Fishing, one that was particularly memorable for me personally. There isn’t much opportunity for me to catch any stillwater barbel near where I live in Bristol, so when the chance came to have a crack at the The Weir pool, at Weston Pools in Shropshire, I jumped at the chance and thought it would make for an interesting issue of Think Fishing.
Not only would a net of stillwater barbel be a rare treat for me, but showing you how I go about approaching a venue I’ve never even fished or seen before would be interesting from your point of view – with so many new fisheries popping up all over the country, there’s a good chance many of you will be visiting a fishery for the first time in the not too distant future.
So I hope you enjoy this issue; we filmed it on the hottest day of the year so far, which was a real test for me and the crew, but in the end I had one of the best day’s fishing I’ve ever had on a commercial.
