In this issue of Think Fishing Des is fishing a charity match at Lindholme Lakes near Doncaster. He drew drawn Peg 5 on Willow Lake and although he's done some promotional things on Willow, he's never fished it in a match, and his peg was one of those that rarely produces enough fish to win anything.
THINK FISHING WITH DES SHIPP
Welcome to Issue 16 of Think Fishing. This month I decided to head north and take the camera crew to Lindholme Lakes near Doncaster where I was fishing a big charity match and it offered another good opportunity to follow me through a five hour match on a venue that I rarely fish. Lindholme is a popular complex and it hosts some big matches but because it’s so far away from my home in Bristol, I rarely to get to fish it.
Like all venues that host matches with a big turnout, there were always going to be some flyers you can win from, some good pegs you can frame from and some not so good pegs where realistically you’re not in with a chance of winning anything. It was the latter that happened to me at Lindholme! I drew badly and was stuck in a corner/bay that doesn’t produce many fish and although I wasn’t in with a chance of winning the match, it gave me the perfect opportunity to show you some tactics and tips and generally how I go about tackling a swim that isn’t full of fish!
Hope you enjoy the issue and thanks for your continued support.
