Welcome to the first issue of Think Fishing, a monthly video with an accompanying e-mag aimed at match and pleasure anglers who want to learn more and catch more fish.

I’m quite often asked by other anglers why I make the decisions I do when I’m fishing, and sometimes I can’t really offer them an answer because most of the decisions I make are based on so many factors that present themselves during a match or pleasure session.

There are so many questions and so many possible answers! So we came up with the concept of Think Fishing, and now every month you can follow me for the duration of a session and see how I adapt to certain conditions and the thought processes that go on in my mind when I’m making key decisions. This month I’m starting things off by fishing Jenny’s Lake at Tunnel Barn Farm, which is typical of many commercial fisheries around the country where F1s and silver fish are the main target species at this time of year.

I hope you enjoy it, I certainly enjoyed it on the day, but more importantly I hope you all take some really good advice and tips away with you that will help you catch more fish on your next match or pleasure session. Remember, whatever style of angling you’re in to, think about your fishing and you’ll be more successful.
