THINK FISHING WITH DES SHIPP
Welcome to Issue 25 of Think Fishing and this month, after what feels like a long winter, it feels like spring is in the air. We filmed the latest issue in the first week of March and there were definite signs of things beginning to wake up and what was even better was our location. Harescombe Fishery is set in a picturesque Gloucestershire valley and if you fancy some awesome fishing in beautiful surroundings then you really have to give this place a try.
I decided to fish on Field Lake which is perfect for a pole attack and my main aim was to try and catch some carp on the long pole. This wasn’t going to be instant though and this is when filling in the gaps becomes so important and that’s what I wanted to show you in this issue. Swapping lines at the right times and knowing how to feed them and when to go back on them is such an important part of my fishing, and by filling in the gaps while you wait for swims to settle after catching a few fish from them, you can keep something going in the net all the time and that’s how to build a match winning weight.
Harescombe proved to be the ideal venue to demonstrate this so I hope you enjoy the issue and if there’s anything you’d like me to cover in future issue then let me know on the Think Fishing Facebook page.
