THINK FISHING WITH DES SHIPP
Welcome to issue 48 of Think Fishing. It's mid April and weather is very changeable with nice Spring weather followed by conditions that are more like Winter. In the lead-up to filming this issue, we had some glorious, mild days but a couple of days prior to filming, it all changed with strong winds, rain and low temperatures. But that's typical for the time of year and during the Spring you need to be adaptable to keep pace with these significant changes in weather conditions, which do affect the way fish feed.
So the weather wasn't the best but undeterred we descended on Hawford Bridge Fishery in the West Midlands which is the perfect venue for me to show you something I haven't shown you before, and that's how to catch carp from snaggy swims. It's exciting stuff, and I know a lot of you will either face these swims when fishing a match, or if you're pleasure fishing snaggy swims can produce some huge weights of fish if you get your gear right and know how to get them out once you've hooked one.
