THINK FISHING WITH DES SHIPP
Welcome to Issue 41 of Think Fishing and this month I’ve brought you to another fantastic venue that I don’t get to fish as often as I’d like, Stafford Moor down in Devon. It’s part of a double header because we’ll be filming Issue 42 here as well, but for this issue I’m on Tanners Lake, probably my favourite lake on the complex, and by popular demand I’m going to be fishing the pellet waggler. I’ve had quite a few requests over the last few months to dedicate an issue to this method and at this time of year it can be unbeatable in the right hands on the right peg.
Tanners is a great lake to demonstrate this and with the weather being really warm (i.e. hot!) the carp in here should be up in the water so I should be able to target and catch them shallow. There’s a slight ripple on the water too but the wind could get up during the day and that’s why I always have back up methods ready just in case it gets too strong to fish the waggler effectively. The pellet waggler is a brilliant method but conditions have to be right for it so that’s the first lesson.
