Welcome to Issue 20 of Think Fishing and this month we’ve got a real treat for you because on our visit to the excellent Clay Pit, part of the Weston Pools complex, we managed to get some underwater footage with me fishing at the same time. It provides a huge insight into what is actually happening under the surface in a real fishing situation and to the best of my knowledge, it’s the first time F1s can be seen feeding in the swim and being caught. It was real eye opener seeing how they feed and how they take the bait, how they react when one of their shoal has been hooked, what they do when a fish is being played and there’s a slight delay in feeding more bait. It’s all there and you can see it for yourselves.

We also managed to get some awesome underwater footage of carp, F1s, roach and perch feeding in the margins and me dropping my hook bait right in amongst them. You can see the effect loose feeding maggots has and then you can see what happens when I decided to feed some groundbait. I won’t give any more away, all that’s left for me to say is enjoy the issue… I’m certain you will.
